10 LAYERS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE CAKE

The 10th day of 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS CAKES has the 10 Layer Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake in honor of 10 Lords a-leapin!!  10 layers of happiness!!

Wow!! Ten layers!! Mind you it’s skinny layers but still!!  10 of them!!  This was a fun and unique cake to make for me.  I think this is the tallest layer in one cake that I’ve ever done.  I mean I’ve stacked cake taller than this but each stack usually has 2 layers.  So that’s why I’m really excited!!!

Since we are on the number 10, I will share to you 10 things that I love about Christmas!

  1. Decorating

Christmas is when I go all out on my decorations.  I start planning one year in advance!!!  That way when I see something cute, I grab it and put it in my Christmas box!

      2. Baking

I mean, does this even need an explanation?!?!  One of my dream is to make cookie platters.  You know .. The platter that has many different kind of cookies.  I’ve seen platters that has 12 different cookies.  My oh my!!

     3. Christmas music.

Now some people starts listening to Christmas music right after Thanksgiving (You know who you are!! ?) but I like to start Dec 1.  It really gets you in the mood for Christmas!

     4. Thumbprint Cookies

Yes it is baking, but this cookie has to be a category in itself because I’ve been making this cookie almost every year for 8 years.  It’s a must-have at every Christmas!!

     5. Christmas outfit

Now I like to be color coordinated with my family during Christmas.  So I plan ahead for this too!!  Lots of sale after Thanksgiving, y’all!!

     6. Christmas letter

Walgreens is my place to go get Christmas cards!!  Cute and affordable!!

     7. Presents for teachers

I like to love on our kids teachers, especially during the Holidays!  I make a list ahead of time and start asking around and looking for gift ideas for them.

     8. Peppermint Stick

I mean you can get them anytime of the year now, but eating them during the Holidays is waaaaayy better!!

     9. Christmas lights

I love driving at night and seeing the lights.  It warms your heart and it’s just so pretty to see!

    10. Family

Whether it’s my immediate family or friends that are like family, I am so grateful that I get to celebrate Christmas with them.

Oh I think I’m going to cry!!  I get so sentimental during Christmas!!  I hope I’m not the only one!!! ☺️

Instead of getting sentimental, how about we do something that always makes me happy!!  Baking!!!  Let’s bake this cake!!

After creaming the butter with sugar and brown sugar, add the eggs one by one while the machine is on low speed.  Then add vanilla and mix again.

Then alternatively add the flour and the milk.  Make sure to start with flour and end with flour.

Before mixing the chocolate chip into the batter, you want to toss it with a tablespoon of flour.  This prevents it from sinking to the bottom of the pan.

After you’ve done it, gently mix it into the batter.

Since I’m making the 10 layer cake, I used this 5 layer cake pan set.   I double the batter if you were making the 10 layer.  If you are just using the 6 inch cake pan, you don’t need to double it.  Pour the batter into the pan and bake.

When the cake is cooled and leveled, spread a layer of the chocolate frosting on top of the cake.

Keep adding the cake until you have 10 layers of the cake.  Then frost the cake.  What a sight to see!!

Here’s what the cake looks like when it’s cut!!  It really has 10 layers of cake!!!  ?

Happy Baking!!!
