Brownies and Bars

MAGIC BARS

Happy New Year!! This month is all about CONDENSED MILK and here’s the first recipe of the year!!  Magic Bars!!!  Crunchy, chocolaty, salty and delicious!!!

So when I shared this with friends, they were very familiar with this recipe.  It’s also known as Seven-layer bar but for this one I think I’ve only used 5 layers.   The graham cracker crust, the condensed milk (you know it’s going to be delicious when it has condensed milk in the recipe!), the chocolate chip, the coconut and the walnut.  Really easy and simple!

What makes this recipe even faster to make is the Graham cracker crumbs.  Before this thing existed, I had to crush the cookies then measure, oh what a hassle!  ?  But with this amazing invention, we are saving time and appliance to wash!!  You can find them in any grocery store.  Let’s make this scrumptious Magic Bars!!

Mix the melted butter and the graham cracker crumbs.  Press into a baking pan that’s been lightly sprayed with cooking spray.  Make sure you have an even layer.

Pour the “Happiness in a can” .. I mean the condensed milk on top of the graham crackers layer.

Make sure to even out the layer.  I used just the back of a spoon to even it out.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips throughout the pan.

Then sprinkle the coconut flakes.

Then sprinkle the walnuts.  You can use pecans but I prefer walnut for this recipe.

Gently press down the surface to it will make a nice even layer.

After 25 minutes of baking, take it out of the oven and let it cool.  Do not cut it into bars right away, because the base will need to set.  After it cools completely, go ahead and cut them into squares and ENJOY!!   Have fun baking them, eating them and sharing them!!  That is if you have any left! ?

Happy Baking!!
