MATCHA BROWNIES

My oh my!!  What a unique brownies!!  Come with me as we go on an adventure in the MATCHA month!!  We will start with Matcha Brownies!

Matcha month!!  Well, for some of you who are not familiar with it, Matcha is green tea powder that is made from Japanese Green tea.  It can be made to so many things.  Mostly it can be found in drinks and desserts.

How do I describe the taste?  Well, I think it has a bit of chocolate background and it’s very earthy.  It’s a unique flavor that is a bit complex to describe in just 1 or 2 words.   You need to try it to be the judge of it.  This brownie recipe is a good start!

When baking with it, remember that matcha is very strong.  So you really don’t need a lot because it’s quite potent!!  Let’s bake some delicious Matcha Brownies!!!

Heat up the butter on a small saucepan until it turns into brown butter.  Then pour into a bowl that has the white chocolate and matcha.

Mix it all together until the mixture becomes smooth.   This is called a ganache mixture.

In a stand mixer bowl, mix together the sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and salt.

Beat it until it’s nice and creamy like the photo below.

Then pour the ganache mixture into the bowl and mix together.

Sift the flour into the mixture and mix again until everything is combined.

Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Now I have to be honest with you.  It is not the prettiest of desserts but it is delicious!!  The white chocolate, yum.  The brown butter, yum.  And most importantly, the matcha, my oh my!!

Sprinkle some powdered sugar and enjoy!!  It will be the hit of the town!  Or at least to your family!

Happy Baking!!
