MINI STRAWBERRY TARTS

A sweet pastry and fresh strawberries is just what you need for breakfast!!  Or maybe it can be a dessert??  Or a snack?? It’s delicious anytime you eat them!!  Mini Strawberry Tarts is the last recipe for MINI TREATS month!!

I have to tell you that as a baker, it’s nice to have shortcuts sometimes.  Something that can be whipped up fast yet still delicious.  Comes the wonderful Puff Pastry!!!  I thought Puff pastry would be so hard to work with, but it’s really not.  Really easy to use!!  It’s very versatile because it can be sweet or savory.   The best part about it? It’s a great “In case of emergency” thing that you can store in your freezer.  Just in case company is coming!

Now with baking it, one thing you have to remember.  You will need to thaw it out about 40 minutes before you bake them.  And when I say thaw it out, don’t just put it on the counter.  You have to take it out of the paper wrapper.  Don’t forget to open the wrapper, bakers!!

This recipe needs only 4 things.  Puff pastry, sugar, butter and strawberry.  You can use other berries like blueberry, blackberry or raspberry but our family is a fan of strawberry so strawberry it is!!

As you can see from the picture, the puff pastry has 2 fold lines.  Those line are going to be your guide on where to cut.  Then line up the sliced strawberries so that you know where to score the puff pastry.

Line up all the strawberries like so.  Score (not cut all the way thru to make a rectangle around the strawberries.  With a pastry brush, brush the sides with the melted butter and sprinkle sugar on top of the butter.

Bake them for 30 minutes or until its golden brown and ta da!!!!  You can even serve this with some vanilla ice cream..  And as I said before, you can serve this for breakfast, snack, or dessert!!!

Happy Baking!!!
