OVERNIGHT TEXAS TOAST CASSEROLE

It’s THANKSGIVING DAY month!!!!  What a mouthful!!  This month will have recipes for your Thanksgiving day celebration, starting with this Overnight Texas Toast Casserole!!  Easy, make-ahead and delicious!!

If you think that baking for Thanksgiving day is too  overwhelming, fear not!!  If you see the picture below, these are the ingredients you’ll need  make EVERYTHING (ALL 4 RECIPES!!) for the whole day.  Not too bad right??  And most of them are things that you probably have at home already. (That container under the eggs is my flour.  I buy in bulk because I bake so much!!  ?

So this month, I’ll share recipes for the whole day of Thanksgiving.  Starting with breakfast, we have this Overnight Texas Toast Casserole.  Then for snack while the game is on, there will be Crispy Chewy Maple Cookies (It’s really crispy and chewy!!).  For the main event, we have 60 minute rolls that will be great with your Turkey.  And last but not least, we have the delicious Pumpkin Bundt cake with Chocolate Ganache.  4 different recipe to make your Thanksgiving celebration amazing!!

Now why Texas toast?  Not just because I live in Texas, silly!!  It’s because Texas toast is thicker than the regular slice.  That way the casserole is not too soggy and nobody wants a soggy casserole!

And I like the crust to be cut because I want all the texture to be the same.  It’s really your preference if you want to keep them or not.

Spread the butter and brown sugar mixture at the bottom of the baking dish.  When you take your bite, this will be the best part!!

Cut the bread in half, and lay a layer of the Texas toast on top of the butter mixture.  Spread half of the egg and milk mixture on the top of the bread.

Then make another layer and put the rest of the egg mixture evenly on top.  Cover and put it in the fridge until tommorow morning.

When you’re ready to bake, bake it at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.  So simple right!!! And if you like you can sprinkle some fruits or even top with maple syrup or some whipped cream.  And Thanksgiving recipe #1 is done!!!  What an easy Breakfast to whip up!!

Happy Baking !!!
